Dr. Jennifer Leo
Dr. Jennifer Leo is the Director of The Steadward Centre for Personal & Physical Achievement, a teaching and research centre within the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation at the University of Alberta. The Steadward Centre actively supports inclusion and independence for children, youth, and adults living with impairments through physical activity and fitness programming. As the Director, Research at the Abilities Centre, Jennifer has acquired extensive research experience focused on understanding the meaning of physical activity experiences for people with disabilities, including perceptions of inclusion and the preparation of fitness professionals. She developed her background in qualitative methods as a graduate student in adapted physical activity at the University of Alberta and has demonstrated a strong ability to disseminate research findings to the community.
