The purpose of this project is to seek input from reserachers and stakeholders as we establish a clearer understanding of the fundamental components of a quality of participation experience in disability sport, across levels of competition. Starting with a foundation of recent conceptual work describing participation (i.e., Martin Ginis, Evans, Mortenson, & Noreau, 2016) we have progressed through an initial stage of adapting this broad definition into a Parasport context, and have conducted an online study with 80 participants (i.e., athletes, parents, coaches, administrators) to gain further detail about experiences that quality sport participation is comprised of. We are currently configuring a sport-based conceptualization of quality sport experiences, which will be reviewed by a group of researchers, and ultimately will be adaped for direct application in sport organizations by a panel of Parasport stakeholders.
